The conference kicked off today with a fabulous day of exhibitions, visits with vendors and non-profit organizations, gallery shopping right in the convention center, and so much more.
Then at the opening ceremonies, we were all treated to fabulous entertainment by “a clown and a recycled woman”, our intrepid Onsite liaisons, Marge Levy and Wally Bivins.
Marge talked about the theme, “on the Edge”. It was so named not just based on geographic principle, but also in speaking to the question “what do you do when you get to the edge?…How do you ‘keep on keeping on?’ ”
To help, NCECA has a theme song!!!!! We learned it tonight, and you can learn it too in the previous blog post and you can join us at the closing. We then heard from executive director, Joshua Green, who introduced our keynote speaker, Mark Dion. Watch for his inspirational and edgy talk as a podcast soon!
Enjoy the conference!
