Student Perspectives is back and seeks proposals!
Submission Deadline: October 2, 2013, 11:59pm MST
What is Student Perspectives?
Student Perspectives is a platform for students to participate in NCECA as presenters. At the conference, the Student Perspectives room hosts student-driven programming to a national audience. As with traditional NCECA programming, proposals may be for lectures or panel discussions, but the topics are selected with the needs and concerns of students in mind.
Students make up a considerable portion of our membership and have a fresh perspective on emerging trends in the field. Attendance has shown that their opinion is valued by our membership. Presenters receive a free conference pass, gain valuable experience in public speaking, meet new contacts, receive feedback and criticism, and add a great line to their resumes.
Material World, NCECA’s 48th Annual Conference in Milwaukee will be dedicated to the investigation of the complex ways that materials acquire meaning through the things that we make and those that surround us in our daily lives. Exhibitions and programs will expand on traditional definitions of fine and decorative arts, craft and design in the context of the 21st century.
