Being a full-time student often prohibits one’s ability to have a full-time job. Where can students find resources to support their studies? NCECA is committed to advancing the field at various levels of artistic accomplishment.

What if I were to tell you there was money available to support your projects through NCECA?

Well, it’s true, there are several of these awards available to students through the Regina Brown Undergraduate Student Fellowship and the NCECA Graduate Student Fellowship and all you have to do is send in a proposal by February 3, 2015 (midnight MDT).

THE REGINA BROWN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT FELLOWSHIP

The student must make a project proposal for use of the $1,800.00 award (cannot include payment of tuition) and must submit additional materials as specified in the Application Process. A maximum of three awards may be made, of which $900.00 is mailed following the end of conference. The balance of $900.00 is paid when a project report with images is submitted.

The Regina Brown Undergraduate Student Fellowship gave me the opportunity to visit places that I only knew from secondhand sources. Seeing the ceramic wares in real life was amazing and influenced my ceramics practice on such a different level than just looking at images in books and online. Visiting the Meissen factory and seeing how their wares are produced has motivated the way I work and look at my own porcelain wares. I am very grateful for the opportunity to travel and research the history of European porcelain at the places it actually happened.
