One week left to submit your proposals for NCECA 2016 in Kansas City! It is the fiftieth anniversary of our NCECA conference. Yep, the big 5-0!

Our theme is Makers, Mentors and Milestones; take time to reflect on how far we have come and where we are headed and put forth your ideas for the conference.

We are makers united by a mercurial material. We shape the clay: taking an idea and making it tangible. Some of us throw flowing forms that serve delicious dinners to family and friends. Others sculpt figures or animals poised for action and still others create multiples and install them like a meditation. Regardless of our technique or end product, we love clay. Our enthusiasm and curiosity for the “mud” knows no limits.

We are currently accepting proposals for Lectures and Panels: some themes to expound upon are

Ceramic Art History,

Technology (kilns, computers or unusual materials) and working “Green.”

Share your experience, the challenges and successes working within a studio, organization or center for arts under the Professional Practices umbrella.

Chime in a discourse on ceramic Criticism, Aesthetics or Theory

and stoke the flames of Education, the “E” in NCECA!

You can find more details & explanations of these categories and submit your proposal HERE on the NCECA website!
