Once known as the “Eulogies”, the annual Past Masters session at this year’s NCECA conference is an opportunity to gather together in memoriam and also to celebrate the lives of those we have lost. Please join us on Thursday, March 17th, 4:45-5:45pm in the Grand Ballroom 2501 A (Level 2) to honor and celebrate the lives of NCECA members and significant figures in our field who have passed away since our 2015 conference in Providence.
This session will be an educational experience through presentations on some of our Past Masters by charting their impact on the field as presented by those who knew them well. This year Marge Levy will be speaking about the life and work of John Stephenson, Mika Negishi Laidlaw will chart the impact of Yoshiro Ikeda, Paul Kotula will share the importance of Tony Hepburn and Steve Alpert will share with us the life and work of Marvin Lipofsky. This past year we also experienced the passing of Glenda Taylor who will be recognized with a Fellow of the Council award which will be presented during the Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 18 from 5:15pm–6:30pm Grand Ballroom 2501 A (Level 2). The Past Masters session is an opportunity to both learn and celebrate the lives and work of those that have positively affected a generation of makers.
