Jack Troy’s closing lecture at the 2015 Conference was full of wonderful stories about a life in clay. He spoke with wisdom about aesthetic experiences one moment and with humor about his brother’s tonsils in a jar the next.  He recounted memories of his first teacher, and the years when he and several fellow ceramics folk were “creating a past for NCECA.”  He divided the room into two groups, earth potters and fire potters.   Which are you?  (I’m definitely a fire potter).  Do you want to be intelligent or lucky?  I think those of us in that room on Saturday morning were all lucky to have been able to hear Jack’s words.  Now, your luck continues, as you can relive the experience here on the NCECA blog.  Enjoy!
