Welcome home NCECA friends! I hope you are all re-adjusting to your regular non-NCECA week schedules. My first week back from NCECA has been filled with a lot of conference wrap up including jotting down notes about things to improve systems for next year, receiving and responding to a ton of emails (with more still to do), writing the NCECA survey (keep reading for more on this), and making plans for what to do with all the audio and video we have from the conference. Some of it is already up online, and I have much more to come. Somewhere in there, I’ve also been trying to catch up on the work I missed from that job I have to have to pay my bills….you all understand what that’s about, right? Funny how potters need their clay and such. Hey, at least it’s an awesome job.
I really wish there were more hours in the day though, because I know how much everyone has their own personal favourite sessions that they want to relive, or the one that they had to miss that they really wanted to hear. I’ve already had a few fabulous folks volunteer to write about sessions and some to help me with matching up slides and audio. This is a great way to get involved and give back to the organization and its members! If you’re out there reading this, and you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, drop me a line and let me know. I welcome ALL skill sets! Also, thank you to everyone who has taken the in-app surveys or contacted me separately to help me prioritize conference content getting up online. I’m shooting for one per week, perhaps more often with enough help!
Now, let’s talk about that NCECA SURVEY! This is the 5th year, I think, of the NCECA survey. Each year we get a bit better with writing the survey – it’s still always a work in progress though…no matter how much we try to make it perfect, we are human…. so if something doesn’t work for you, you can ALWAYS email me your questions, comments, concerns & complaints, or make a note in one of the response boxes. YES I REALLY DO READ EVERY COMMENT. We also keep getting better and faster at coding all of the results into useable data and pretty graphs, charts and pictures. This enables us to make better decisions regarding programming at our board meeting in May. Your questions also help to inform me about what to write about in this column! Volume 2 of Inside NCECA will continue probably until summer time, and then Volume 3 will return in the fall with the lead up to our Portland Conference, which I am already excited about!
Now, go take that survey!

Thanks Cindy for the fabulous job you do for NCECA. I truly appreciate the time and effort you make to enlighten the membership so admirably. Just in awe how you find the time.
