Ken Price had early exhibits at top drawer West Coast Ferus Gallery.  (One of his 1950’s exhibit announcements features him on a surf board riding a wave with arms triumphantly outstretched over head.) The lecture will feature many interesting images and facts about this and many other artists.  In recent years, ceramics in New York have been exhibited in highly respected galleries not previously associated with ceramics.  This highly promising integration into the Fine Arts could bode well for the future of the medium.  An end to the stigma of the “craft medium” and segregation could finally be at hand.
