NCECA received a record number of pre-conference registrations for NCECA’s 2020 conference that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis. The NCECA staff have been busy refunding conference fees and are coming to the conclusion of processing requests received to date. I am reaching out to you today because we have not heard from everyone who might be eligible to a refund as of yet.
If you have not done so already, please send an email to Richmond2020@nceca.net. and include instructions for one of the following choices:
- Donate the amount paid for your 2020 conference registration to NCECA. We will arrange for you to get the receipt necessary for tax purposes.
- Carry over the conference registration fee for the 2020 conference to next year’s NCECA conference. The price of this year’s pass will cover the cost of our next conference, even if the price of the conference increases. Doing so will help us get through the potentially tough cash flow problems that we will face over the next year.
- Request a refund. We understand that some members attend the conference on grants that only apply to this conference, and some simply can’t afford to leave that money unused for the next year. We will not hold anyone to the previous deadline for cancellation.
- Make a financial donation. Any amount is helpful! It will immediately be put to good use.
Please be aware that any registration fee refunds not claimed by June 10, 2020 will be forwarded toward registration fees for the 2021 conference. Forwarded registration fees will be held only for their original purchasers and non-transferrable.
We hope you and yours are keeping social distance to remain safe and well during this continuing episode of isolation and encounters with the unknown. While sadly, we were unable to bring the 2020 Richmond conference to fruition, NCECA has been working to share virtual resources and online experiences to engage your interests and imagination. You can visit the Burdens of History and NCECA Juried Student Exhibition via our website. We will continue to post material to keep you inspired and connected so stay tuned to the blog for more information!
Thank you for your patience and continuing to support NCECA during this challenging time,
Stay safe,
Reena Kashyap
